About

Welcome to the website of Auckland musician, actor & tutor John Goudge, and the John Goudge Band.

In 2011 I am reintroducing drama classes for children after a couple of years concentrating on other things. The adult classes will continue on Monday nights, with intermediate aged & teenagers on Wednesday afternoons & evenings.

This is where you can find information on the band, upcoming events, and acting training at Rimu Glade Studio. You can also preview or buy the album John Goudge - Fool Circle. Just click the audio player; or if you prefer go to http://www.amplifier.co.nz/release/55616/fool-circle

Please let me know if something doesn't work the way it should.

Music:  I have the privelege to perform with wonderfully talented and experienced musicians - you'll see who they are in the music section.  John Goudge Band is an award-winning band with an engaging eccletic sound.  I call my music blues-funk-rock-folk-jazz, because it covers lots of genres.  In later times it's been influenced by dance music, and incorporates the infectious grooves of percussionist Johnny Conga.  I tend to tell stories with my songs and bring a lot of theatre to my work.  On April 1st 2010 I released my first fully studio album, John Goudge - Fool Circle

For the right occassion the band turns into a classic covers outfit with songs from the 70s, 80s and 90s that we all know.

Acting Training:  I offier training for child & adult actors at my own studio, Rimu Glade Studio, which is tucked into the bush of the Waitakere Ranges West of Auckland. Here adult actors of all levels learn skills and develop confidence.  I have 15 years experience as a tutor, including six years for Titirangi Theatre.  I run workshops at theatre or other institutions, and get invited into schools to take sessions or help with productions.

Theatre and writing projects:  Over the years I have written, directed or acted in numerous plays or musical  projects.  Feel free to contact me if you have a project I may be able to help with.

If you are a friend or fan, drop us a comment. Cheers, JG.
